		There are several tell-tale signs it’s time to replace your homes windows. Look for water damage along the outside the windows. If the wood around the sill is soft to the touch, or if there are hard-water stains underneath the window, you most likely have water damage. Water damage around windows are most often in homes 10 years or older. If you notice paint chipping around your windows. It means the wood is probably drying out and damaged, and in need of replacing. Be aware of fog in-between the panes of your windows. A little fog near the corners of your windows is normal and short lasting. However excessive amounts of fog can lead to water damage to the wood and plaster of your home. If you feel a draft while your windows are closed, it means it’s time to replace them. Are you having the siding on your house redone? It's the perfect time to replace your windows and dramatically change the outside appearance. If you need to replace one or two bad windows consider replacing all the windows on that side of the house for consistent appearance. And finally, if you have much difficulty opening and closing your windows, or if your windows are nailed shut… it’s time to get new windows.
